Email This! Version 2.2.5 is (almost) here!

So I’ve finished coding version 2.2.5, and I’ve submitted it to Mozilla, but they have yet to approve it (e.g. this takes 24-48 hours) usually. Once the extension has been approved, I will post another update and submit the add-on to Songbird.

Here’s what’s new in version 2.2.5:

Version 2.2.5 (January 7, 2009)
1. Extension is now compatible with Firefox 3.1 and Firefox 3.2a1pre
2. Extension is now compatible with Flock 2.0 and Flock 2.1a1pre
3. Extension is now compatible with Songbird 1.0
4. Entire code has been revamped
5. Hotkeys are now functional
6. Preserved Formatting has been restored to Gmail, Google Apps, and MailTo This.
7. Preserved Formatting has NOT been restored to Yahoo. The “–” separator remains.

For the first time in a year, hotkeys are functional again. Apparently, I erased something back in 2007 (or mozilla had changed something) rendering the hotkeys useless. As soon as v2.2.5 is out, hotkeys will begin working again.

Also, I’ve restored the formatting back to Gmail, Google Apps Gmail, and MailTo This. No more “–” to separate the link and the selected summary. This also means that line breaks, paragraph spacing, and just about everything else will appear in the email body as well (took me almost two years to the day to restore this feature). Sorry Yahoo users, I’m leaving you in the dark – you’re still stuck with “–” since yahoo won’t accept the fix that works for EVERY OTHER CLIENT ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH.

I’ve updated the Email This! project page with the new information, including the new HotKeys. Click here to go to the Email This project page.

That’s all for now!
