Proposed New Features for Email This!

I’ve gotten a few emails in the last few weeks asking for two features I’ve never really thought of implementing (in Email This), but come to think of it, they’re not hard to add in. The features are:

  1. Use the BCC Sending line instead of to (User will have option to specify which one he/she wants to use)
  2. Add signature to your email

If implemented, the first version will only work for Gmail, and subsequent updates to the extension will add support to the other clients.

Vote in this poll and/or leave a comment or shoot me an email.

Suggestion – Adding, at the beginning of the subject line and before inserting the title, something to the effect of “Posted on the web – “, “Pulled from the Web – ” or “Article – “.

This tells the recipient the type of content and accounts for the sender not being the author of the inserted article portion.

Not a bad idea! I actually know how to implement that, so I’ll do it in one of the upcoming updates.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

What would be the point of using the BCC line? Any particular reason over using “To”?

I’d like to understand it completely before voting.

Some people want to send bulk emails to many people without revealing everyone who’s on the list to other members on the list. It’s a feature/option that people have requested at least 2 dozen times in the last 6 months or so, not one I’ll personally use though.
