FacePAD v0.5.8 Released!

Two updates in one week – WOW! =D
Actually, there was a minor problem in v0.5.7 that prompted this second update. In this version, the user can now download ALL of the photos in an Group Album and Event Album, by right-clicking on the SEE ALL link on the front-page/main page of a group or event.

Here are the version release notes:

Version 0.5.8 (April 23, 2009)
1. Now downloads ALL “Events” and “Groups” albums.
2. Must click on “SEA ALL” in groups/events to execute this function.

Download the extension here (from Mozilla) – Version 0.5.8

There’s also a video tutorial if this is the first time you’re using FacePAD:

Veo que en tu video tenés un diccionario en español de Firefox instalado, por lo cual debés hablar español.

Tengo el mismo problema que el chino, sólo baja las primeras 20 fotos…

    Santiago,

At the moment, there is no Spanish Locale. You need to change your default facebook language to English for the extension to download all of the pictures.

Nothing happens when I try it is there something wrong with what im doing, I click download and nothing happens i’ve restarted firefox and everything nothing happens.

    Ste,

Try disabling all your other extensions – see if it works then. Some extensions interfere with FacePAD’s functionality because they may be coded improperly – e.g. they do not follow Mozilla’s coding standards.

Is there a way to download all the photos of me? All the photos are scattered throughout different albums so it would be pointless to have to go to each photo and download the entire album.

  10. May 21, 2009 at 3:39 am

    Jon,

The extension can only save pictures in a per-album basis. Since your tagged photos are in different albums, it cannot download all of the pictures you are tagged in one go. Also, it’s not pointless if you want to save the photos (as memories) of everyone that was at the event in which the album corresponds to.

    Have a good day.

As per Ste: language is set on English, I disabled all my add-ons, enabled the default theme. Anyway, every time I click on Download Album to FacePAD, nothing happens.

I’m using Firefox 3.0.10 on Kubuntu 9.04. Any tip?

    Tooby,

That’s absolutely bizarre. You are right-clicking on the Album and clicking on “Download Album with FacePAD”, correct?

Shoot me an email if you can – easier to talk via email.

    Hello,

Is there a way to download the photos that you are tagged in (whether you tagged them your self or not). I am not talking about photo albums I or someone else may have created. It would be nice to download the section of photos that when clicked says “View photos of Tashia” –> “Photos of Tashia”. I would like to have my own copies of each and not have to download them individually or my friends whole album in which I may be tagged in 1 or 2 photos. I would like to do this before I untag myself on these photos.

    Please help.

    Thank you,

    T. Ayala

This is the most asked question. The answer is NO. That’s because photos tagged of you are not considered to be an album by facebook’s database. When an album is made, facebook makes a hard-wired address to your album – http://www.facebook.com/user/your_album/ – something like that. Photos tagged of you are found in the following manner (crude example):

    http://www.facebook.com/arthur/arthurs_crazy_album/pic98oftashia.jph
    etc…

and the reason you see them is because their tagged to your name, and tagging does not create a hard-wired address like the ones specified above. So no, the extension can’t download tagged photos of you from other people because those photos are in different albums, not in one specific album.
