New FacePAD Tutorial Video (v0.6.0+)

Hey everyone,
I’ve made a new tutorial video for FacePAD: Facebook Photo Album Downloader. This one reflects the new additions made in FacePAD (v0.5.9 and v0.6.0).

Lazyrussian, A Musician

Aside from doing physics and programming, I also enjoy making Electronic music. I’ve decided to start posting pieces that I am proud of. In the past, I’ve made new-age music under the guise of DJ Elujin. Now, I am posting a new piece under the guise of Lazyrussian, which will be strictly Trance, House and Dance music. I’ve made a couple pieces under this name, but I’m only proud of one at the moment. You can find it by CLICKING HERE, which will take you to the new MUSIC page on lazyrussian.com. The songs will be hosted by soundcloud, and will be embedded on this site since WordPress supports clips from soundcloud. Following my mantra of giving things away for free, these songs will always be free to download, but I’m always happy to take donations 🙂 – I’m worried that it’s illegal for me to charge for music, especially when some of the tracks are mash-ups of other songs. Anyway, enjoy the free music, and please do comment!

FacePAD v0.6.0 Now Live!

It’s official, FacePAD v0.6.0 is now available for download! Below, are the release notes:

Version 0.6.0 (August 9, 2009)
1. Added support for Italian (Italiano), Dutch (Nederlands), and French Canadian Facebook users.
2. If user does not specify a language in the preferences, FacePAD will default to English.
3. There will only be one pop-up/alert box signifying the FacePAD has begun downloading the album.
3. Now compatible through Firefox 3.6b1pre

Download FacePAD v.0.6.0 at Mozilla’s Add-ons site.

Can’t believe I’ve been doing extending firefox for that long…feels good though!

Anyway, I just just just got the email saying FacePAD v0.6.0 was accepted by Mozilla. It’ll take an hour or so before it is shows up in the public stream. If I’m still awake, I’ll make a post about it once I see that it’s public. If not, I’ll modify all the information relevant to v0.6.0 on this site and make the official post in the morning.

FacePAD v0.6.0 is Complete!

It took me quite a while to finish FacePAD 0.6.0 since I ran into a rather nasty bug when trying to add support to non-standard (Latin) keysets, such as Cyrillic and Greek. I wasn’t able to reconcile this, therefore, FacePAD support was only added for a handful of languages (on top of the ones It already supports). Below, are the release notes:
