Buzz It! Firefox Extension for Google Buzz

[tweetmeme source=”lazyrussian” style=”compact” only_single=false]

The world is a-buzz with Google’s new social networking tool, Google Buzz. I thought I’d whip up a quick firefox extension that would allow users to post interesting pages via a click of a button.

From the Official Project Homepage:

General Information
Buzz It! will make a buzz status update via Gmail with the link and title of the webpage you are viewing.

Buzz It! is compatible with SeaMonkey, Flock, & Mozilla Suites.
Bitly Supporting – COMING SOON.

Set-Up & Functionality
After installation, go to VIEW>TOOLBARS>CUSTOMIZE and drag the “Buzz It!” button to your main toolbar.

If you don’t want to use the button, you can also use the following hotkey:
HotKeys (For Windows/*nix users): alt + windows key + /
HotKeys (For Mac users): option + command key + /

Download from Mozilla – Version 0.1

Latest Version Release Notes
Version 0.1 (February 10, 2009)
1. Debut Release

The extension hasn’t been approved yet – it’s still in the Sandbox. You’ll need a FREE MOZILLA ACCOUNT to download it. The extension should be available (without an account) in 24 hours or so. I’ll make another post then!

This was brilliant of you Arthur – Im certain your add-on will take off just like the Retweet button/plugin did. Therefore , my question now is : will you consider creating a plugin version which will be embeddable for users to incorporate into their blogs just as the retweet button – or will you just leave this as a FF extension ? I think creating a plugin version of this will be even better ! Regardless – this is great as it is 😀 Wishing you much continued success in life & career endeavors 🙂

Thank you very much for the kind words. Actually, the guys over at Tech Crunch already took care of that, but they cheated. They’re doing it via Google Reader.

Anyway, for more info on that go here: http://techcrunch.com/2010/02/10/google-buzz-button/

Hi Arthur, Thanks for this nice extension. I’ve been trying to create a bookmarklet for Safari based on your extension. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be working! Perhaps you could help iron the bigs out? (I don’t know what’s wrong!) Here is the code:

    Buzz It!

P.S. I’m not a developer, so it may not make a lot of sense!
